Currently, we have one among us who wishes to choose the path of a mage. I see nothing wrong with this. We also have many who would be glad to join us if mages could become knights. In my opinion it doesn't matter what weapon someone uses, it is their heart and intentions that matter. Magic is but another kind of weapon. What would you say to us admitting mages and making them knights as well?

I am completely fine with it, however I do nto think that some other people will, as they're are some beliefs on the role of Magic. Some say it's godly powers, but some say it is the work of evil. But, in my opinion, it should be fine.

I see nothing wrong with this either. However, I don't agree with the mages being on completely equal terms with the knights. Real knights would be of no use in such situation and turn into ordinary warriors! Still we can organize a distinctive hierarchical structure for the mages. They would work in the libraries mastering the common and secret knowledge. And certainly, the are to help the knights in battles if needed. Sages of Kallahorn... Sounds good, doesn't it? - Avain Defle Page of Kallahorn

You would be surprised at the power a mage would add on the battle field. I don't see what you mean about real knights being of no use in such a situation. What kind of situation do you mean? Please explain.

I didn't mean to underestimate the powers of mages, sire. And I am not against mages in the Knighthood. All I want to say, is that giving a mage the rank of a knight breaks the core of the entire idea of a knighthood in generalized meaning of the word. It is like sitting on a fence. You can't run the hare and hunt with hounds at the same time.

I still fail to understand. So a mage can not being a knight because of... ?
If a mage has the same values as a knight, and has proved himself as a knight, should he not have the right to become a knight?

In my opinion, magic is not as straight and frank as the sword is. A duel of honor between mages, or a mage and a knight... For me this sounds sufficiently odd. But these are only my thoughts, and I will support milord in any of his undertakings.

I think I understand what you are saying now. What about a staff. Could we train them in that as well as having a mage train our mages. Just a thought.

Why not, sire? I just try to imagine a "knight" in a mage robe, carrying a staff... and I fail to do that. In addition to my words I wish to introduce to you Mr. Arganis. He is an apprentice mage, by the way, and is eager to join the Knighthood. Incidentally, he shares my opinion on the current topic. Thereupon I ask you, sire, to consider the candidature.
